Antique Desktop Marquetry Walnut Wood Box (Lockable). Antique Desktop Marquetry Walnut Wood Box (Lockable) H! Up for auction is an antique lockable wooden box (possibly Walnut wood, possible date of <1850>) with marquetry in the lid. Has a brass escutcheon, hinges and plaque atop. New key, lockable. Probably a desktop stationary box containing pens and paper perhaps. Dimensions: 10.5 x 7 x 2 inches. Repair and restoration: this item came to me with a very messy card lining glued in with industrial epoxy, so I removed all and sanded down inside, with a light sanding and cleaning on the exterior. Polished all over with walnut oil. There was originally a partition within, so I made a temporary new one. Also filled in and repaired missing marquetry chips. Made a new key for the lock. Post: Worldwide. All packages recycled and sent 2nd class. Combined postage costs on multi wins from my Ebay shop on all items with combined weight of under 2kg.
