The clock is of the high quality with the case being made from mahogany with cross banding oak. This clock was made by Jno Forster of Newcastle Northern England. The clock has embossed capped pillars flanking the painted arched dial. The hood benefits from a carved swan neck pediment. The case is stunning quality georgous patina to the wood the trunk door benefits from a lock. The painted arched dial with black Roman numerals and metal hands, two winding holes for the time and strike trains. The dial has colourful spandrel decorations to each corner and a hand painted arch very well painted top quality. The dial also has two subsidury dials on for the seconds and the other for the date. The paintings to this dail are very good a fair artist hand has painted them. The clock has an original English weight driven movement and is bell striking counting the hour on the hour. The movement is original to the and has been recently serviced by us which is a huge savings in its self.
