Item:142959784755Listed for sale is a fine English George the second oak and jappaned chinoiserie longcase clock with sarcophagus top by Joseph Seyton of Portsmouth who died 1757 making this clock approaching 300 years old. The clock has an 8 day movement striking a bell on the hour, it has a 12inch arched dial and subsidiary minute and date apertures. The clock is in working however order the original key is no longer with it, other than this I believe the clock to be in generally original condition. Height 229cm These kind of clocks are becoming more and more sort after due to their highly decorative appearance and great age it will therefore prove be a good investment, and as you can see the clock looks beautiful in any period setting.
