ANTIQUE FRENCH BOIN TABURET CLOCK SILVER CHINESE KANGXI FAMILLE VERTE TEAPOT

Description A fine antique 19th century French Boin Taburet gilded silver / white metal and porcelain clock. 23 Photos in Gallery below.  please scroll down to view all photos. The porcelain body of the clock is made from an Chinese early 18th century Kangxi Famille Verte porcelain teapot hand painted in enamels with birds among foliage and a cricket. I can provide a link to similar teapots for attribution please message me if you would like.  When the clock is taken apart it is possible to see where the handle once was. The clock case is probably gilded silver otherwise white metal. It does have some impressed markings as shown in the pictures. Looks like a side portrait, possibly Silver Guarantee marks. The clock also has silver / white metal leaved branches with applied hand painted flowers. The clock benefits from a white enamel dial with black painted Roman numerals and two ornate fancy gilt hand. The dial has "Boin Taburet" painted upon it. Boin-Taburet was established in 1873 by the antique dealer George Boin and the jeweler Emile Taburet. The firm produced Louis XV style silver work from Paris in the late 19th century and were award a gold medal at the Paris 1889 exposition Universelle. George Boin and Emile Taburet continued to work together until 1900. The clock contains a French Vicenti & Cie Medaille D'honour brass 8 day movement that strikes upon a bell. Please note this clock is not in working order. The movement requires attention or a service. It does tick intermittently. Movement marked "Vicenti & Cie Medaille D'honour. Small impressed markings to case. Size and Weight Measures 18.5cm 7 3/8" tall. Weighs n/a (measurements and weights where specified are approximate) Condition Good condition. Chinese porcelain body is in good condition with no repairs, no restoration.  It does have a small firing / manufacturing flaw. The porcelain applied flowers do have some typical small chips / losses. Dial is in good condition with no cracks or repairs. Please note this clock is not in working order. The movement requires attention or a service. The silver / white metal case has typical tarnishing. Age commensurate wear throughout. Please gauge condition using photos provided.
