In Greek mythology, Echo was a nymph who was punished by the goddess Hera for her loquaciousness. Hera cursed her so that she could only repeat the last words spoken to her.
Narcissus, a handsome and vain youth, was walking through the woods one day when he heard someone following him. He called out, "Who's there?" Echo repeated his words, and he became curious, calling out again and again. Each time, Echo repeated his words until she finally revealed herself. But by that point, Narcissus had lost interest and spurned her.
Heartbroken, Echo flew away – retreating to a cave where she withered away, leaving only her voice behind. Image is printed on 8.5 x 11 inch quality photo stock. There is a 1/4 inch border around the image which is ready for framing.
