Antique 19th C Green Chinese Shiwan Pottery 3.5” Ginger Jar Pot
Chinese Late Qing 1890-1910 Green Glazed Octagon Paneled Stoneware Ginger Jar
Nice older ginger jars are getting difficult to find. This is a great green glazed six sided stoneware ginger jar from the late Qing Dynasty. The sides of this ginger jar are decorated with six panels each depicting a different flower. The shoulder is decorated with a band of leaves. Nice glaze oxidation and grazing due to age. Based on the style and techniques of production this piece was made 1890-1910.
This ginger jar is in very good condition. There are some manufacturing and glazing flaws often seen on these pieces. As stated above there is glaze oxidation and grazing which is a result of age and enhances the piece. Please study the photographs, they are part of the description.
Dimensions: Height 3 1/2 inch (8.8 cm), Diameter 4 1/8 inches (10.5 cm).
