Item:174055769165This is an excellent antique striking wall clock by the renowned German clock maker, Gustav Becker. It has been fully serviced and is in good working order. I am confident it will give many years of service and will prove to be a sound investment. Please see photos which form part of the description. The movement is the reliable P64 movement. It has a serial number which dates it to the period between 1900 and 1913. The movement has been stripped, cleaned , inspected and lubricated with a quality clock oil. Both going and striking mainsprings have been replaced with new German quality mainsprings. The clock strikes the hour ( counting the hours on a spiral gong), and also strikes the half hour. The porcelain dial is in good condition. The brass dial bezel does have some knocks, but these do not detract from the character of this antique clock. The hands and pendulum are in good original condition. The case is mainly of mahogany and is in overall excellent condition. It has a good patina and is finished with a quality wax finish. The front glass and side glass panels are in good condition. The door closes firmly on its hinges. The case has two brass stabilisers to prevent side movement when attached to the wall. The clock comes with a winding key. The clock will need winding once a week. Approximate case dimensions are 126 cms high (from top and bottom finials), 44 cms. wide, and 18 cms deep. The dial has a diameter of approximately 21 cms. (bezel dimensions). The clock will be securely packaged . For U.K. destinations it will be sent by the Parcel force 48 hour signed-for service. I do send abroad, but request overseas purchasers to contact me prior to bidding for postage costs. This is a substantial clock and the cost of postage reflects this. I am subsidising the cost of postage for a U.K. purchaser. The actual postage cost will be more than that quoted. As alternatives the clock can be collected, or I will be pleased to assist the purchaser with preparing the clock for their own courier arrangements. The clock is set 'in-beat'. I will enclose an explanatory leaflet on how to reset the beat should this be disturbed during transit. I will also be happy to provide any email or telephone support, if required. Please satisfy yourself that you are happy with the clock before bidding. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further information. I would be pleased to answer any queries and forward additional photos if requested. Thank you for looking.Brand:Gustav Becker, Age:Antique, Post-1900, Type:Wall Clock, Material:Mahogany
