Please read full report in description., Material: English ash, Type: bookcase, Age: 1850-1899, Original/Repro: Original, Details: This good quality late Victorian or early 20th century bookcase is made in its entirety from well selected ash timbers, with some very attractive wavey graining. The wood has acquired a pleasant patination over the last century or so, and would come up to a rich sheen with a dab of wax polish if required. This is believed to be a popular Heals model of the time, usually seen in oak, but occasionally in ash. There are no labels, but an internet search of Heals bookcases should show identical pieces. Overall sizes, 48" high, 19.5" wide and 8" deep at main body. CONDITION: this bookcase is in a good original condition with only normal signs of age and use. Please note a small hole at the back in the (solid ash) backboard, at the base, and two of the wooden dome head screw covers are missing on the base at the left hand side - not too obvious and will not been noticed generally.
