Description

An authentic Louis Philippe style French armoire dating from the mid to late 1800s. This is an incredibly striking piece with a warm dark patina and beautiful proportions. Inside the armoire is exceptionally clean and comes with 3 shelves. It retains the original internal hook used to lock the door from the inside. Externally it has lots of eye catching detail with pretty escutcheons and floral style carvings. Petite by French standards this armoire offers maximum storage combined with antique integrity. It comes with its original key which no longer works but is a lovely added feature. This armoire is fully knockdown, dissembling into manageable pieces for ease of transport. Buyers will receive a step by step guide to help them.

Condition: Very good. As with all French furniture of this age it has experienced surface cracks and splits to the wood as well as a small scattering of woodworm. It has been fully treated as a precaution and is extremely robust once assembled.
