It has an eight day movement on an arch painted dial. If we start with the hood, this has swan necks finished with turned pateras. The hood door is flanked by turned columns. the Hood has been profusely inlaid with exotic woods. Moving down to the trunk, the door is shaped and mahogany cross banded and has a diamond with rosewood cross banding to the centre. The door is flanked by mahogany and rosewood detailing. Above and below the door is mahogany veneered with rosewood cross banding. When the doors is opened there is the casemakers label to the backboards which reads 'J. WILCOX DYKE'. The base is cross banded. The eight-day movement has an arched painted dial and subsidiary second dial. The four corners are adorned with paintings and gilding's of shells with lovely colourful backgrounds. The arch is adorned with paintings of a lovely rural country scene which incorporates a hay cart. The dial is in original condition and is a little faded and has been touched up on the name and some of the numbers on the second dial, as can be seen from the photographs. the dial is signed 'Thos Pearce, Bourn' The movement and dial are fully original to each other and to the case. The clock is complete with it's weights and pendulum. No winding key. The movement is nice and clean and complete but the feather is broken on the pendulum, so is not sold with any guarantee. It also has it lovely original back as can be seen from the photograph. The approximate dimensions of the clock are: - 81 inches (206 cm) high - 20.5 (52 cm) inches across the hood - 14.75 inches (37.5 cm) across the trunk - 19.5 inches (49.5 cm)across the base Condition: The clock is being sold requiring restoration. The clock is in nice condition as can be seen from the photographs but there are knocks / marks /shrinkage commensurate with age. A large number of photographs have been taken please take time to view these as they are an integral part of the listing. The dial is in original condition and is a little faded and has been touched up on the name and some of the numbers on the second dial. The clock is complete with it's weights and pendulum. No winding key. The movement is nice and clean and complete but the feather is broken on the pendulum, so is not sold with any guarantee. There is some long dead wood worm holes to the hood and to the trunk door and some odd pieces of veneer lacking in places.
