Antique 30s GPO Cathedral Telegraph Signal Indicator Galvanometer Mahogany Brass. An old 1930s GPO telegraph signal indicator. This style with the pointed arch shape is known as a Cathedral.
Made mainly of mahogany and lacquered brass. very nicely engineered and good carpentry with good jointing and internal carving.
Internally the lacquered bras is very good; on the outside it is a bit speckled. Simliarly internally the mahogany reatins its rich red brown colour; on the outside the wood has good lustre it is more brown than red. The face of the dial has faded to a cream colour.
The instrument has some normal usage wear with a patina consistent with decades of use in a working environment. No damage or issues.
The magnet this has some power. Other than that it is untested.
It is 18.5 x 13.5 x 7 cm at it's tallest, widest and deepest. It is quite heavy at 1850g
