DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful 8-Day Rolling Moon inlaid mahogany longcase clock which is in superb condition and is exceptionally detailed. The clock has the rare feature of a centre date. The clock is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. This clock is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a clock to place straight into their home.
If we start with the hood, this has swan necks with superb brass pateras. Below the swan necks has pretty dentile detailing and to the centre of the swan necks is an exquisite pediment. Between the top of the hood door and the swan necks there are wonderful glass panels. Pretty reeded columns which terminate in brass capitals, flank the hood door. To the rear are quarter reeded columns. The door is mahogany veneered and has a pretty brass knob.
If we then move down to the trunk, it has a lovely shaped door has some wonderful grain to the mahogany. The door is then flanked by square reeded columns which have been nicely inlaid with ebony stringing. The door is also complete with it's lock and key which is fully working.
Finally the base has canted corners and has a shaped applied panel which has wonderful flame mahogany veneers. It is raised on lovely ogee bracket feet.
The dial with makers name of 'Richardson, Weaverham', has the four corners adorned with superb decorative detailing which incorporates a gilded panel and lovely vivid colours. The dial is set out with Roman Numerals. There are subsidiary second dial and the clock has the rare feature of a centre date sweep. The Rolling moon is wonderful with the paintings of the moons and also lovely painting of a galleon and a castle scene, the background to the moon has some superb colours of pinks and blues which sets it off stunningly. The dial also has the most wonderful fretted fingers.

'RICHARDSON, Thomas WEAVERHAM Clockmaker 1795'.
The movement is eight day duration and is rack striking on a single bell. The movement is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. As can be seen from the photographs the movement is immaculately clean.

The approximate dimensions are:
- 89.25 inches high
- 25 inches across the widest part of the hood
- 17 inches across the trunk
- 21.75 inches across the widest part of the base
As can be seen from these dimension this is a clock of lovely proportions.
CONDITION:
The clock is in wonderful condition. The movement is immaculately clean and in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced.
