The clock is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. This clock is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a clock to place straight into their home. If we start with the hood, this has a stunning Architectural top which are incorporated into a beautifully shaped pediment, dentile work and a fretted panel. Pretty reeded columns which terminate in brass capitals flank the hood door with lovely reeded back slats. The door is beautifully molded and has a pretty little brass knob. Above the hood door is nicely finely painted which sets it off beautifully. If we then move down to the trunk it has a lovely fully length door cross banded in mahogany. The door is also complete with it's lock and key which is fully working. The door is then flanked by quarter reeded columns which have stunning brickwork detailing below the columns. Finally the base has is a shaped applied panel which is nicely cross banded in mahogany and is raised on lovely ogee bracket feet. The dial with makers name of 'Thos Adams, Middlewich', has the four corners adorned with delicately painted fruit and flowers which has been created in lovely colours with a decorative edge of gesso work and gold leaf. The centre of the dial is also adorned with exotic birds. The dial is set out with Roman Numerals with small Arabic Numerals above. There are subsidiary second and date dials. The dial also has the most wonderful fretted fingers. The movement is eight day duration and is rack striking on a single bell. The movement is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. As can be seen from the photographs the movement is immaculately clean. Clock and Watchmaker. 1782' DIMENSIONS: The approximate dimensions are: - 86.25 inches high - 23.5 inches across the widest part of the hood - 16.25 inches across the trunk - 21.25 inches across the widest part of the base As can be seen from these dimension this is a clock of lovely proportions.
