This clock is being sold "as-is" with regard to any subjective opinion or words used for search term purposes within the listing title. This is a beautiful, ornate, copper-tone clock that seems to me to be of an Asian (very likely Chinese) design. I think it features dragon fish. I purchased it, on a whim, at an estate auction just because of its appearance. If nothing else, it'd make for a great decorative piece on someone's shelf. The clock is 8 1/2" tall and is 6 1/4" wide (tip of dragon fish to tip of dragon fish) by 2 7/8" deep. It's very solid for its relative small size, weighing in at 2 lbs. I can't find any maker's mark on either the body or the clock face or backing. Due to the color, I suspect that this is actually made of copper as opposed to brass or bronze. It may just be an overlay / wash, but I doubt it. There is a lot of patina on this. I believe that this clock is an antique, but have no way of confirming that. It's being sold "as-is" with regard to age. Certainly, a significant amount of time had to pass for this clock to acquire it's green patina. This clock does not work. The knob to wind the clock is missing. I found that an allen wrench of mine fit in the winding mechanism hole rather nicely and so I was able to wind it. It wound, as if everything was proper, but it just would not start to tick. As such, it is being sold for parts or repair or for decorative purposes only. There has been a repair to the copper portion of the clock between the two dragon fish at the bottom even before I bought it. It broke again in my possession and I used some super glue to re-attach the broken piece. I do not expect that fix to be permanent. It really needs to be soldered (in the back and out of sight) for a more permanent fix. I have so little faith in my super glue fix that I think it might not make it to you before coming loose again. In that regard, and while I hope it remains intact and I will do my best to keep it that way, this is being sold with the understanding that this will arrive in your hands with that small piece at the bottom broken and you will need to repair it. The clock actually can be pulled out of the surrounding ornate frame. When doing so, the front glass and frame remains which would allow you to use this as a picture frame instead of a clock (see last pic). When the clock is removed though, the frame loses its center of gravity and wants to fall forward. One could anchor the back stand to keep it from doing so. Please refer to the images to form your own opinion about cosmetic condition. Your opinions, based upon your review of the images and your own research, shall take precedence over any subjective opinion or erroneous statements of my own. Do note that the clock is dusty and has a lot of patina on it that may come off if one wanted to remove some; I haven't so much as wiped this off with a damp rag. You are receiving it in the "as found" condition. This is a great clock that deserves better than to be cast aside. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.
