Item:382977512383An antique 'Pembroke' table believed to date from the 19th Century. The table is approximately 73cm high. With flaps down the table measures 84cm x 50cm. With flaps raised the table measures 95cm x 50cm. Condition is as can be seen in the pictures and is best described as being very well used - possibly as a general purpose item of furniture with little or no regard for its age or originality. However, it has been cleaned up and repaired where necessary and several layers of wax furniture polish applied to make it again presentable and usable as a very practical item of furniture. Some of the edge veneer and edge 'stringing' is missing or damaged and the top surface bears fading, discolouration and age related marks (or 'patina'). Examination of the underside frame reveals former woodworm holes - any infestation now long since gone. The false drawer end has one of its brass ring-pull handle back plates missing and there is no key for the opening drawer. The bottom end on two of the tapered legs has lost some surface laminate. Despite the condition described, the table nevertheless offers a presentable example of an antique 'Pembroke' table - still usable for the purpose intended and possibly for use in a country cottage, shop or shop window display, theatre prop, etc. Item is offered for collection only - cash on collection only please - and must be collected within 7 days of completion of the auction. Please note these requirements. Seller lives in Long Eaton.Type:Pembroke Table
