Seller: shearclass-2007 (700) 100%, Location: King's Lynn, Ships to: GB, Item: 113557072829 For Sale Used/Pre-Owned Antique Regency Fusee Bracket/Mantel Clock In very nice condition for its age which is likely to be C1840 approximately The Bezel with Convex Glass is sound with no damage This is a "Timepiece" with a Single Fusee Movement which runs for 8 days approximatelyIt does NOT ChimeIt has a really nice tick which is not too loudThe dial with Roman Numerals is signed by "Finch, King Square, Goswell Road, London" The Clock measures (all approximate) Height: 15.25" to the top of the Pineapple Finial)Width: 9"Depth: 5.5" The dial is in good condition for its age and is fairly sound all around. The diameter of the dial is 6" The bezel previously worked to open and close with a key. This no longer works but the bezel opens and shuts without any problem or hassle and stays fairly flush when closed. Turning to the case, It looks very much like Rosewood/Mahogany and looks lovely which has Brass Inlay to the front of the clock with X2 Brass Handle Adornments either side. There is one piece of thin Brass inlay missing below the dial bezel but this is not really noticeable unless you look very close up. I have shown this in one of the photos. This could be replaced if required by a restorer There is also a tiny piece of corner moulding missing surrounding the top pediment. This measures 4/5mm at its widest and could be repaired if desired. Again this is shown in a photo. The Clock sits on 4 wooden balled feet with a stepped plinth. The back door is made of wood surround with glass to view the movement, sound hinges and the door fits beautifully flush when closed which can be problematical with antique clocks The rear door has a lock and I have had 2 keys made which open/close the door accordingly There is a mark within the glass but has been inherent within the manufacturing process. Again this does not detract from this beautiful clock. The single Fusee movement appears sound and fairly clean and is happily working away here as it should. It is Gut Line (not chain or wire) that is wound onto the Barrel. The Pendulum is heavy being quite substantial and can be secured by screw and thread to hold it secure to the movement when not in use or moving it, again this was the sign of a quality movement. Overall and considering its age, this clock is in splendid condition but like any antique of this age it does have scratch's, chips, dings, shrinkage marks, minor repairs etc, so please bear this in mind when considering your purchase. This particular clock is from my own collection and I am selling certain pieces to make room. This is a genuine sale, so please feel reassured and you can look at my feedback to give you confidence. Any questions, please ask.. UK P&P Only (Islands extra where applicable) The clock can be sent Internationally via ebay GSP Facility to included countries. Please note that I would prefer collection, although I will Post/Ship and it will be well packed to avoid any damage. However, because it is antique no carriers/couriers will cover it for loss or damage, so it will be the complete responsibility of the purchaser should the inevitable happen. Because clocks can be shaken around they may need setting up to work again correctly and you may need assistance from a Clock technician should this happen, although I will try my best to help you. Thank you for looking Condition: Good, Age: Antique, Pre-1900, Type: Bracket Clock, Material: Wood/Brass, Style/ Origin/ Theme: Regency, Clock Type: Fusee Clock, Features: 8-Day
