Item:133249442042Antique School / Station Clock - Mahogany surround and brass bezel with 8” (20cms) clock dial. The overall diameter is 11" (28cms) Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class. It weighs a fraction under 2kg without the packaging so in the unlikely event of the PO only charging me the "up to 2kg ”rate I will refund any difference. The clock has been restored to a high standard and is in full working order. The movement was made by the German clockmaker Dufa. The surround and case are made of solid wood and the bezel is solid brass. The surround has been dyed deep mahogany and french polished. I have described it as antique but cannot be sure of it's exact age. Given the history associated with the clock manufacturer it is probably in the region of 100 years old. It has an 8 day movement, the pendulum is original but the key is a new replacement item Please study the photographs and take note of the following: - The timekeeping is accurate (for a pendulum driven mechanism). There is tendency (as with all clocks from this era) to run very slightly fast when fully wound and very slightly slow when ready to be wound up. I mention this so that the buyer knows what to expect but I'm sure anyone with knowledge of these old clocks will understand that they cannot achieve digital accuracy. - There is some play in the hands (mainly the minute hand) also some play on the hinge. Simply age related and both are still very secure. - The back panel has been replaced, even though it looks original. - There has been some cracking in the paint on the tin dial which has been stabilised and touched up. It's invisible unless studied very carefully from close up. All of the above "issues" are completely acceptable for a clock of this age. You shouldn't expect anything more but it's important to make things clear so that there is no misunderstanding. I have probably made is sound as if there are problems and this isn't the case. The clock is in beautiful condition and works perfectly. If you require more information I'll try to provide answers. I bought the clock to restore it so I don't know the full history but I do know that it looks great when hung on the wall and it works well. If you are able to collect rather than have it posted you are welcome to inspect and see it working.Brand:Dufa, Age:Antique, Post-1900, Sub-Type:School / Station Clock, Type:Wall Clock, Material:Wood, Clock Type:School Clock, Features:Pendulum/ Moving Parts
