Item:264362425791You are bidding on an antique small drum head mantel clock. It is in full working order. The movement has its original cylinder platform escapement - this has a very unusual cover over it made from a very early verge pocket watch balance cock - this is all hand fretted. The clock dates I would say from the late 1800s - the cover over the excapement has probably been added slightly later with the purpose of protecting the balance wheel when the rear cover is removed to wind the clock. A rather unique clock with this fitted. The clock comes with its original steel double ended carriage clock type of key. The clock is generally in good used antique condition - the very nicely proportioned case, which I think may be walnut, is very good apart from one of the end mouldings. All I can say about this is that at some time in its life it has come off and looks to have possibly been chewed by a dog - I may be wrong on this, but this is what it looks like - please see pictures. The clock measures approximately 17cm in height x 15cm in width, with a dial diameter of 9cm. I have tried to describe this item as accurately as I can, so you can see what you are bidding on, but please contact me if you require any further information. Item number KMW1844 If you are bidding on any of my other auctions, I will combine postage on multiple items. Items paid for by Paypal will only be sent to a Paypal verified address. All UK items will be sent, unless otherwise stated, by Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded. All items, if under the maximum weight limit of 2kg when packed, will be sent overseas by Royal Mail Airmail International 'Signed For' service unless otherwise stated. Items are now sent this way to conform to eBay/Paypal regulations that safeguard both the buyer and the seller. This can make the shipping charge, particularly for overseas bidders, higher than possibly expected as the Recorded/Signed For service adds to the postage, particularly the overseas postage. I can accept no responsibility in the very rare event that items get lost in the post, but I will endeavour to do all I can to help the buyer by contacting Royal Mail and getting them to do the necessary search. Please be aware that it is illegal to falsify the value or contents on Customs documentation and under no circumstances will I do this. Overseas buyers are responsible for all duties and taxes, if applicable, that are levied by their Customs.Condition:SEE FULL DESCRIPTION - KMW1844, Age:Antique, Pre-1900, Clock Type:Mantel/ Carriage Clock, Features:8-Day, Style/ Origin/ Theme:Drum Head, Sub-Type:Drum Head Clock, Type:Mantel/ Carriage Clock
