Beautiful Foot Stool .......but was it a Piano Stool....I know that it was bought at auction in the 50's by someone who had started upholstering small pieces as a hobby.It is intricately carved and the turned 'end handles' twist round.The reasons I wonder if it was once a taller piano stool is its shape, plus looking at the bases of the four legs - they are rough andalthough they are coloured with age they could have been sawn off as their edges are not straight - see last photo.
