The dial is quintessentially Scottish with the single sheet of silvered metal. On the dial we can see A strike on silent dial, a date calendar, a mock pendulum, beautiful engraving, and its original pierced steel hands. The clock is from about 1760-1770. The front door also is lockable this was to prevent the servants from stealing the very expensive movement there is also a lock on the back door. The side of the clock has got two glass panels to show the inner workings of the clock the clock has also got a glazed back door. All these features show quality and this is one of the best quality clocks you can get! The movement has got a beautiful engraved backplate that has got mythical creatures dancing all around. The movement also is double Fusee and has a verge escapement. The clock is in full working order and can easily be set up. The reason the clock has a handle is so it can be transferred up to the owners bedroom at night. There is also a clasp to hook the "bob" pendulum when transporting.
