A Tall unique Gothic style mid 19th Century carved oak writing table, desk.

Carved oak writing table or desk dating from circa 1860. In a dark stained oak it features an over-sailing top.

To the top is a raised gallery with 3 shelves and 3 carved small drawers. It stands on square tapered legs.

A well-proportioned piece, it is a good size, offering lots of work space but not too large. With good colour and patina, could be used as a desk or hall table.

The stunning oak carved desk features a sloped writing top  concealing a lower desk compartment.

Please note there has been a historic crack to the slope that was repaired by the previous owner.

This would benefit from being professionally restored but is still fully functional as it is.

There are four carved drawers to the middle of the shelves all with brass knobs.

Each drawers internal measurement are

16.5cm Wide

15.5cm Deep

5cm High

The carving to the front, sides and drawers are really what makes this an extremely special piece.

Just beautiful.

This is a really  beautiful one off piece.
