This item would certainly grace any home, as it is a fantastic investment. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture. Provenance: The design of this Victorian dining table was influenced by the popular Pugin movement, during the mid-19th century.  Augustus Pugin was an English architect, designer, artist and critic who is principally remembered for his pioneering role in the Gothic Revival style of architecture. His work culminated in designing the interior of the Palace of Westminster in Westminster, London, England, and its iconic clock tower, later renamed the Elizabeth Tower, which houses the bell known as Big Ben. Pugin designed many churches in England, and some in Ireland and Australia. He also created Alton Castle in Alton, Staffordshire (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustus_Pugin)  Condition Report: This is a stunning quality antique English Victorian oak dining table, with ebonised decoration, in the Pugin gothic style, circa 1850, extending to 15ft, which seats up to 18 people, in excellent condition.  The winding mechanism and runners are of excellent original working condition, and have been constructed to a very high standard, including brass stopping plates.  The table retains its original winding handle.  Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item.  The legs retain their gothic Pugin decorative work, all of which is in excellent condition.  The Victorian dining table includes its two original leaves, with three later leaves.  The table retains its original legs and brass castors.  The table is extremely well-constructed, solid in join and ready to use.   Dimensions: Height = 73cm / 28¾” / 2ft 4¾” Width (closed) = 156cm / 61” / 5ft 1” Width (fully extended) = 457.3cm / 180” / 15ft Depth = 132.1cm / 52” / 4ft 4” Knee Height = 59.5cm / 23½” / 1ft 11½” Price: The price for this item is £14,950, which includes free delivery to mainland England, Wales & southern Scotland* and free 14-day returns.  The chairs in the picture are not included in the price (these can be purchased separately).
