Item Details A large 19th Century Vienna Wall Clock, circa 1870 Offers Welcome  A fine and large antique Victorian Austrian Vienna Wall clock dating to circa 1870. The clock, of rectangular form, features an enamel dial with black hand painted Roman numerals with outer chapter indicating minute marks surrounded by an engine turned ormolu rim. The dial is protected by a glass door encased within a walnut frame and flanked by two turned columns. The pendulum with ormolu decoration and enamel plaque can be viewed whilst it swings via the glass door. Two glass panels to each side also allow for further viewing of the mechanism. The whole with stepped base and finial to the bottom and surmounted with a large carved eagle and flanked by two turned and pointed finials. The twin train movement striking the hours and half on a gong producing a rich and deep sound. The winding key and original pendulum are present. Approximate dimensions: 95 cm high x 40 cm wide Condition: Overall, the clock is in good condition, with some signs of age and usage. Please note, whilst the clock currently works, during transport, all clocks are moved around a lot, and therefore, they may require setting up upon receiving them as well as the possibility of requiring professional assistance or a service as they can get 'stuck'.
