Antique French  armoire top pelmet, fronton d'armoire . Finely carved oak detailing in excellent original condition. Recently waxed. Late 19th c. 

This elegant recent arrival comes to us via a reliable French dealer based in Normandy. Sourced in its original excellent condition, it's decorated with hand-carved, classical floral and swirling acanthus  leaf motifs.

19th c. frontons of this type are increasingly transforming 21st c., interiors adding a French chateau , architecturally sculpted look to spaces above doorways and windows. As demonstrated in the boutique hotel, Les Bois Flottais in Le Bois-Plage-en Re on Ile de Re.  IMAGE 11.
