Looks like mixed metal, perhaps brass and steel.


In used condition, some surface rust / tarnish that could probably be removed with a good clean and polish - I have just given it a surface clean.


This is a vintage salvage item that’s had a previous life so it isn’t perfect. There is a some cracking in the opening as seen in the photo, the handle (which feels like a plastic / Bakelite material) has cracks in it where it meets the shaft as seen in the photos, and there is a repair, possibly a solder, to the brass section as shown in the photos. All that said, it feels structurally sound.
