Seller: shearclass-2007 (762) 100%, Location: King's Lynn, Ships to: Free Local Pickup, Item: 114063108959 For sale and for your consideration is a substantial and beautiful Welsh Longcase Clock This particular clock is from my own personal collection which I am selling with others. Movement## Important (please see below) The movement is all sound and looks fairly clean and works well, the clock keeping very good time as it should. The clock has a very nice tick. The movement runs for 8 days approximately. There are x2 Heavy weights on Gut Line which are pulled up weekly to power the clock movement. The movement rings the hour on a bell. CaseThis is a very large and substantial period antique Clock which will beautifully adorn any house or large property. The large, substantial and heavy casing is wonderful with a lovely patina and for it's age in good condition.Solid Mahogany and with Veneer. The hood and main trunk of the clock have nice turned pillars. The removable clock hood and access door to dial are all working and in good condition. Some of the veneer is lifting a little in places and needs to be glued back but this isn't a difficult job if you're handy and doesn't detract from the quality and beauty of the clock. The clock is original and this is quite normal due to it's age. GlassThe glass is in good conditionThe door with key to access the Weights & Pendulum are in good condition and the lock works well. DialThe painted dial with Moonphase is in good condition has black Roman numerals and is signed by the maker "R.D. Thomas. Portmadoc"Diameter:13.5" PendulumIn good condition. Size (All measurements are approximate)Height: 91" to the top of the centre FinialWidth: 26"Depth:9.5 " ConditionThe general condition is Very Good but it does show signs of wear with scratches, nicks, bumps, chips and other imperfections etc. Please do bear this in mind before purchasing. It is OLD! ## IMPORTANTPlease note that the clock is only working as a timepiece presently but working fine telling and keeping good time. However, the Striking side of the movement works but does need attention, adjustment and re-setting up.Currently the clock will not strike on the hour although the striking side of the movement is operational. It would be prudent to have the movement serviced although if you're not worried, the clock works fine just telling the time only. The Moonphase will not move and work unless the striking side is adjusted. This Clock is up for auction, hence the reason it is cheaper in price to take into consideration of the required repair/service work. GeneralThis is a beautiful fine clock and looks even better in the FleshThe photos do not show how wonderful this clock isThe clock would fetch a tidy sum in an Antique Shop or Dealers. Important - Please Read:ALL antique clocks after transport no matter how well they have been looked after or serviced may require setting up, adjustments and setting into beat when you receive them and i always recommend a professional or an experienced clock person to do this correctly for you. Unfortunately with some clocks it is not a matter of unpacking them, putting the pendulum on and away they go, some clocks will need the extra adjustments and setting into beat so please remember this before purchase. Most clocks will be ok and will not need any additional adjustments but please bear in mind this may not be the case. Any clocks returned because of setting up issues or adjustments needed after transit then a fee will be applicable. For your piece of mind I test all of my clocks before they are sent out or described in the add, the clock will not have any problems as they are tested vigorously before sending. Thank you.. If I can be of assistance or you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks for looking..
