Antique William IV mahogany Davenport in good condition & of the highest quality, dating from around the 1830-40’s period. This piece has many great features, so please enlarge all the images to see them all. The top section slides forwards so one can put their knees under the writing surface. There is a hidden pen tray on the side, it has to be unlocked from the inside with a secret mechanism. Inside under the flap there is a bank of six interior drawers, the top three open normally, the bottom three are false drawers. The handle on the far left false drawer is actually the secret mechanism, you just twist it to unlock the pen tray. This Davenport has a pierced brass gallery, a tooled leather writing surface, 2 pull out slides either side, brass handles inside & out, original locks on all the drawers & it sits on strong flat bun feet with concealed casters underneath. It also has a nice interior under the flap & is panelled front & back.

Returns

Please note, if you are not happy with any product, we will take it back within 7 days, providing it is in the same condition as when it left our shop. However, you will be responsible for the cost of transport both ways. Obviously, if there is a genuine fault with the product that we haven't mentioned, we will cover the cost of transport, but please be sensible because our products are old so they are bound to have some signs of wear. Should anything be damaged in transport, it will be repaired for you for free. You will need to notify us of any problems straight away. Remember, good communication is important.

Domestic & Overseas Shipping Arranged

Please contact us for a delivery quote before bidding. As a rough guide, most of the furniture items we sell can be sent to the majority of places in England for around £50-£80, but there can be exceptions for more out of the way places, or extremely large pieces, so please always ask. Wales & Scotland may be a bit more. We only ship at cost price, and do our best to get a good deal for our customers.

For overseas shipping most companies charge extra for insurance, between 1.5% & 2.5% of the invoice value. For all deliveries, we will require a full postcode and a telephone number. On most shipments, we ask that you pay the courier or shippers direct - that way you know we only ship at cost. Also, we ask that you communicate directly with each other once the goods have left our premises. Obviously, we will help and advise where we can.
