Oak Cased Antique twin fusee
Bracket clock
Signed.......... Francis Sinderby London
The solid quarter sawn oak case with chamfer top over scalloped ebony moulding. Fine Ebony string inlay surmounts the 7" painted dial with cast brass bezel.
More scalloped ebony moulding to bottom of case sat on original brass ball feet. The sides have cast brass fish scale fretwork with brass fruit basket carrying handles.
The 8 day twin fusee striking movement has regulator style pendulum with elaborate engraved signed (Francis Sinderby London) backplate. Striking on a bell with unique strike silent feature.
This clock really is as original as it can be apart from the hands as I have replaced them. The originals were sadly broken.
The clock is a neat size for a quality twin fusee and beautiful in the fact it has a figured Oak case. Most clocks of this type were mahogany. As mentioned above the strike silent feature which is accessed from the backplate of the clock is unique and must have been this clockmakers interpretation.
The total height is 14 3/4"
Depth 6 1\4"
Width at widest point 9 3\4"
Dial size including bezel 7 1/4"
