The 8 day movement is driven by a helical mainspring. The five inch enameled chapter ring bears the name 'Wm Smith Musselburgh (Scotland) Maker & Inventor'. A slender glass dome covers the movement, sitting on the stepped base, the veined marble showing shades of white, pink, grey and black. There are three knurled brass feet. The clock has a brass pendulum bob and original winding key. This is not a modern copy! The clock is in very good condition and is in working order, keeping good time.
