This clock is a genuine antique 30 hour longcase clock. The movement is of superior construction with thick brass plates, 4 thick brass pillars, and chain drive. 30 hour clocks only take 10 seconds to wind each day and are best positioned on a wall close to an activity performed each day such as opening a curtain or blind. It has just had an oil service and bees wax polish.George Honeybone came from a family of over 100 years and 4 generations of clockmakers in Fairford, Gloucestershire. He was born in 1810 the son of Richard Honeybone. George worked in Fairford from 1838 to 1868 and this clock dates from c.1850. The Fairford History Society states: " Honeybone clocks are now much sought after today, particularly in the Cotswolds as they represent fine examples of local craftsmanship and a link to Fairford's past". Lead weight and period brass pendulum.
