This is my Bamford EV1 stationary engine, which I have recently completed. The restoration is the fun bit for me, and unfortunately now I have finished it I do not have the space to keep it, so now I must find someone to look after it.
As part of the restoration it has had new piston rings, re-facing of the block and the head, a copper head gasket, and complete strip and repaint. Unfortunately there is also a repair to the water jacket by the previous owner, but it looks like a good repair. The restoration could still be taken further – the magneto & carburettor could do with cleaning up a bit and some Bamford decals be added – but I have taken it as far as I want to.
Bamford EV1 restoration and running

Using the mobile app? Copy this link into your browser:The engine starts and runs very well as you can see in the video. It has had perhaps 2 hours of running since completion and everything is functioning as it should. It has the original starting handle, and I also have an original copy of the parts manual for it.
Since taking the pictures I have replaced the water drain pipe with a slightly shorter one which doesn’t stick out from under the carburettor and exhaust.
Cash on collection please. The engine is very heavy. To assist in loading I have the trolley that you can see in the video which can raise the engine into the back of a van, but if there is a lip to get over that might be difficult!
Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
