Obermeyer Vintage Wool Hat Turquoise Riding Cap with small brim, Page Boy, Equestrian, Italy. As a clothing collector, my best educated guess is late 50's, early 60's, for this hat. I could see Gidget wearing something like this. MOD looking all the way!
Very high quality Obermeyer wool made in Italy. The stitches are very strong and thick, like cables. This hat will last forever (see pics for view of inside of the cap). The small brim just adds so much class and the black button on top is Tres Magnifique. You just need a riding crop to go with it or a cute minidress and some go-go boots! Don't forget the Vespa Scooter.
The wools fades back and forth between a light blue / turquoise and a medium turquoise, two-tone, but very subtle. And, there is sort of a wave to the cap heading toward the pinnacle. Top to brim is 10 inches. Top to back is 8 1/2 inches. Brim itself is 1 1/2 inches and tapers into the sides. The mannequin head is 19 inches and there is room. My head is 22 inches, and it fits just right, but is a bit snug on me. So, fits comfortable from about 19 1/2 - 21 1/2 inch head diameter. This is wool and tightly knit, so there is not much stretch to it, but will last forever. Long Standing American Haberdashery and ski wear company out of Aspen, Colorado. This particular hat was made in Italy. 100% Wool. Very RARE (have never seen one like it).
