Beautiful Antique French Slate & Marble Mantel Clock FWO.. This beautiful slate and marble French mantel clock, dating from around 1880 is in very good condition and full working order. It has a bell chime, once on the half hour and counting the hours at the hour, and runs for 2 weeks on a full wind. The slate and marble case has no cracks or chips and only the odd tiniest nibbles. The enamel dial does have a couple of small cracks and a chip at the winding hole but it is about 140 years old. This clock unusually, has a back door with a glass window and the crutch has a regulating arm to adjust the beet. The pendulum and movement have matching serial numbers and the movement is marked Japy Freres. It comes with two keys, one for the time and strike and the other for the speed regulator at the 12 o'clock position.I apologize for the postage cost but the clock is very heavy and will be triple boxed to make sure it gets to you without damage.
