Beautiful design of 6 wells petals for oysters or shells surrounding a centrepiece for lemon or sauce.

The history of La Manufacture de Porcelaine de Baudour:

In the territory of the commune of Baudour, near Belgian Mons, several ceramic factories were created during the 19th and 20th centuries. In August 1842 François-Joseph Declercq established a manufacture in a building of an old pottery  "La Société des Tuileries et Panneries à Vapeur de Baudour". In this small workshop François-Joseph Declercq, who previously worked for famous porcelain factories of Meissen and Sevres , starts creating remarkable porcelain, so-called "cut-sided" dinner services, coffee services with floral decorations, vases, statuettes, etc.

After various twists and turns, in May 1845, FJ. Declercq established partnership with Montois lawyer, Nicolas De Fuisseaux. The new company developed very quickly and won several porcelain competitions. In February 1848, the two partners separated and Nicolas De Fuisseaux alone headed the 'Manufacture de Porcelaine de Baudour'. After the death of Nicolas De Fuisseaux in 1857, his widow, Eléonore Messine managed the family business for more than 25 years. After the death of his mother, Fernand, the youngest of the family, took over the management of the 'Manufacture de Porcelaine de Baudour'.

In 1898, the name of the company changed to: "Société Anonyme des Anciennes Mills of Fuisseaux".  During this "DE FUISSEAUX" period, this porcelain factory experienced a tremendous development and offered a very diverse range of porcelains: tableware, everyday use and special occasion luxury coffee services, washbasin trims, vases, pyrogens, doll heads, insulators, statuettes of Saints, Virgins, animals, etc. Fernand de Fuisseaux died in 1912. He was suceeded by his son in law, Charles Greyson.

In 1927, the 'Anciennes Usines DE FUISSEAUX' merged with the 'Société Anonyme des Pavillons'. During this period, the forms of services are almost identical to those of the De FUISSEAUX period with variants in the sets.

After the First World War company was bought by the "Société Anonyme des Pavillons" and in 1934 the Belgian Ceramic Society "Cérabel" took over the Baudour factory. In 1977, Cerabel being on the verge of bankruptcy ceased production of tableware porcelain.
