Description Beautiful English antique 19th Century Victorian (Queens head) solid sterling silver tea caddy spoon by the silversmiths Hilliard & Thomason (1847 - 1902) in lovely condition and with English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1867. Excellent quality and a genuine 157 years old , a very nice shape with an attractive fluted and engraved silver bowl and with original hollow silver handle. I t weighs just 7.2 grams and there are no added personal engravings. One of a small collection of good caddy spoons currently being listed.
Measurements 3.25 inches (83mm) in length, the bowl measures 1.85 inches (47mm) x 1.4 inches (36mm) wide.
Date English antique mid Victor ian solid sterling silver with a f ull set of silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1867 (date letter "S"). Nice clear marks in the bowl, which includes the silver duty stamp of Queen Victoria and the silversmiths initials are "H & T" (Hilliard & Thomason - 1847 - 1902) .
Condition Lovely condition with no splits or repairs, definitely no wear holes, and no knocks or dents, juts has a few minor little surface bruises on the handle end, honestly nothing at all bad, (see last photo) and a very nice genuine antique example. Great design with a beautiful decorative silver bowl and it is free from personal inscriptions.
