Seller: revpab_7 (235) 99.4%, Location: Loughborough, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 263577639797 Victorian Bracket clock for spares or repair OverallThere is no maker's name on the clock, but it looks like it's Victorian. This old timepiece has had some attention and needs more. The mechanism is not currently working but I believe it could do so. There is a pendulum and it also comes with a Smiths Enfield key that fits and works. I'm putting it up for sale as it is. MechanismThe mechanism looks clean and cogs move if the pendulum clasp is manipulated by hand. The springs can be wound and are neither too tight nor over loose. The suspension spring on the pendulum is broken (see last photo) but could be replaced cheaply. One of the retaining hooks on the pendulum has also been bent. I am unaware of any other faults but that isn't to say there may not be more. CabinetThe glass and woodwork are all sound. Looking at the clock from the front (see picture number one) you can see that the right hand side is higher than the left. The lid has clearly been removed for some reason and the upright will no longer fit back into the retaining hole. The lid has been secured using Philips screws. I would say that someone with a knack for woodwork would be able to return this to its former glory.
