Seller: rimplestultskin2013 (2,771) 100%, Location: Clapham, London, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 283444521259 You are bidding for "The Seal of a Governor" a British Museum Replica of a Cylinder Seal impression. The original circular seal originates from the City of Ur in Babylon (now Southern Iraq) around 2050 BC. It was found around 1820 and presented to the British Museum in 1880. The replica impression appears to be terracotta and measures ~ 5cms X 9cms, mounted on a shiny black stone plinth ~8.5cms X 12cms with explanatory label to the rear. I have been unable to trace a date for the replica itself. However, the old cigar tin I found it in appears to be from the thirties and the plaque was in a cellophane envelope that had 'crystallised' so it has some age of it's own. Both plaque and plinth are in very fine condition, very clean no cracks or nicks anywhere. I have provided a few pictures of the replica, check the condition for yourself before bidding. This is the item you will receive. All my items are carefully packed for dispatch. Free postage within the UK only! I always obtain proof of postage. Happy Bidding! Material: Terracota, Type: Seals
