FIVE MUSICALS BY FAMED COMPOSER & LYRICIST KANDER & EBB The collection contains the following:
"CABARET" with The Original Cast from this December 1966 Playbill. which was within the first month of this hit's opening. It has become one of the most revered shows in the American Musical Theater. Multiple productions won multiple awards. A must for any collector.
"70 GIRLS 70" With only 35 performances, this is a prized highly collectable Playbill.
"THE HAPPY TIME" opened at The Imperial Theater January 18 1968. It closed on September 28, 1968, after a run of 286 sparsely attended performances and 23 previews. It was the first Broadway musical to lose a million dollars. Gower Champion won Tonys for direction and choregraphy.
"ZORBA" opened November 15 1968 at the Imperial Theater. Directed by the late and great Hal Prince, it was a hit musical. It was nominated for multiple Tonys; however, the brilliant Boris Aronson won, as usual, for his scenic design.
"THE RINK" the 10th musical collaboration of Kander and Ebb. The musical opened on Broadway on February 9, 1984 at the Martin Beck Theatre, where it ran for 204 performances and 29 previews. Even with stars Liza Minelli and Chita Rivera (who did win the Tony), the show was a flop due to mostly negative reviews.
