Seller: kk-bean (67) 100%, Location: Preston, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 153487402064 This item is being sold on behalf of Oxfam Bookshop Preston, and all profits from the sale will help to fund Oxfam's work fighting poverty in the UK and around the world. We are pleased to present a delightful set of "Maundy Money" coins, issued in the 1920 Maundy Thursday ceremony by King George V. The 1, 2 and 4 pence coins are dated 1920 and bear the image of George V; the 3 pence coin is dated 1902 and bears the image of Edward VIII. The coins are slightly tarnished but the engravings are in excellent detail and we would grade them as "uncirculated". Unfortunately the photographs are not of the best quality; the camera had trouble focusing because the coins are so small! Unfortunately, the original presentation box is not present; the coins are stored in a small cushioned cardboard box from the 1960s from E Hatoun's Sons, Cairo. Valued by a coinage expert at Bonhams at approximately £200. Includes free Royal Mail special delivery. Year of Issue: 1920, Modified Item: No, Denomination: Maundy Sets/ Coins, Era: George V (1910-1936), Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom
