James Harrison of Hull, the last of the Harrison clockmakers, was the great-grandson of John (Longitude) Harrison’s brother James. John (Longitude) Harrison famously developed a clock in the early 18th century that would keep accurate time at sea. The current subject, James Harrison’s turret clocks contain several unique design features and are well regarded by enthusiasts.
