The 33 cm. arched painted dial inscribed Clitherow, Prescot, roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, twin winding holes, eight day movement striking the hours on a bell. The hood, with Swan-neck pediment applied with lotus roundels, receded Doric columns, shaped rectangular door to waist flanked by receded quarter columns, ogee bracket feet, standing 220 cms high. Clitherow was a member of a well-known Lancashire clock making dynasty. This clock, dating from 1772 to 1777 by virtue of the false-plate partnership of Osbourne and Wilson.
