Dog Friendly Holiday Condominium to let in Mid Wales, Close to Major Walking Routes. This is our recently refurbished, 1 bedroom bunk house annex close to the centre of Knighton in Mid Wales. The bunk house was completed at the beginning of 2019, with one set of bunk beds and an orthopaedic double bed in the bedroom, which benefits from air conditioning. There is a comprehensive inventory of cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery, electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave oven, fridge/freezer in the kitchen area. The lounge diner has Sky on Demand TV with a built in DVD player, a separates stereo system and Broadband WIFI. The downstairs shower room has a toilet, wash basin and shower. The annex lounge has central heating radiators fed from the main house and the air conditioning system upstairs in the bedroom also works as a heating system if the nights are cold. We also provide an electric space heater and a portable electric fan heater for the additional comfort of our guests. With the exception of a small shared entrance hall where the recycling bins are stored, the annex is completely self contained and secured from the main house. Guests have their own separate access with key. Towels, bedding, milk, tea and coffee are provided. The owners live in the main house so they are usually available if guests need any help during their stay. It may be possible to arrange lifts and drop offs to walkers during your stay. The annex is set in gated grounds with a large garden. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome with their owners. Guests can use the owner's driveway where there is plenty of off street parking right outside the door. Guests who have travelled on bicycles are welcome to store their bikes in the owner's garage. The property is close to the Offas Dyke walking path and we offer transfers (for the cost of fuel) to and from Kington and Craven Arms/Montgomery for people doing the walk. This potentially allows our guests to spend 3 consecutive nights in the same accommodation. The accommodation is also on the Heart of Wales Railway Line Walking Path so we can provide a similar service for local stops along that route as well. The bunk house annex is approximately 400 metres from the railway station, located on the Heart of Wales Line Walking Path. In the other direction we are 400 metres from the Offas Dyke Visitor Centre, which is located on the Offas Dyke Walking Path. We are also home to the Spaceguard Centre, an observatory dedicated to tracking and detecting near Earth objects. There are many beautiful country walks to be had right on our doorstep. Knighton is on the edge of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Clun Castle is 7 miles away, and the Craven Arms Discovery Centre is only 13 miles away. The walking town of Kington is 13 miles Southwards, with its rare breeds farm and owl sanctuary. Further to the South travellers will find the Brecon Beacons within easy reach, and to the North West is the Snowdonia National Park. To the West near Rhayader the Elan Valley is home to Victorian dams and reservoirs, as well as the Gigrin Farm Red Kite Feeding centre. Further to the West you will reach the seaside town of Aberystwith, a journey of some 90 minutes from Knighton. The town itself has a museum, as well as a selection of independent shops plus a One Stop, a Spa supermarket and a Co-op Supermarket. There are several pubs that offer hot food, at least 3 cafes, an Indian restaurant, a Chinese takeaway, a burger bar and a traditional fish and chip shop. The market towns of Llandrindod Wells, Ludlow and Leominster are all less than 30 minutes drive away. Due to the type of building, we do not feel that the bunk house annex is suitable for disabled people with wheelchairs, as there is a stairway to be negotiated when accessing the sleeping area, and there are several steps down from the driveway.
