Item:163959572037We have for auction an early Victorian 8 day fusee striking bracket clock by Edward Tutton of Richmond made between 1839 and 1855. The clock needs a full restoration so selling for spares or repair. The mahogany veneered case has losses throughout. The carved decorations to the front are long gone. There is some half round beading to the front edge of the case missing and there are losses to the veneer on the top of the clock. The back door frame is in pieces but all there except for thr glass and veneer losses. Both case locks are present but no keys. The cast brass bezel is good and the convex glass is crack and chip free. The two side glasses and brass frets are intact. The dial is signed Tutton of Richmond and has had some touching up in the past, but apart from that it is original. There is an on/off lever for the strike above the 12. The clock chain fusee movement is all complete including the pendulum and coiled gong and key, and does work on and off but need a full overhaul to work properly. Dial diameter 200 mm, Height 410 mm, width 370 mm, depth 165 mm. Weight 8.2 kg.
