A fabulous antique Regency three plate gilt over mantel mirror, dating from the early 19th century, for restoration.
The mirror has a superb classical frieze at the top made of plaster and depicts Romans, cherubs and a chariot being pulled by lions. Above the frieze is classic Regency ball decoration and it has Corinthian columns at each side.
It measures 57" wide x 35" high x 4 1/2" deep.
Sadly there are some figures missing from the frieze and it's all quite fragile and needs stabilising, also one of the column tops is missing, wear to the paint and overall in need of restoration.
This mirror came from a grand old country house where it had been in dry storage for many years, please check out my other two large mirrors from the same house I am also selling this week.
This lovely mirror really has the look of faded grandeur and with some sympathetic restoration would look fabulous in any period interior.
Please note, this is for collection only from the Blandford area of Dorset.
Good luck.
