COLLECTORLINKS...ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT
FOR WHAT OTHERS ARE LOOKING FOR
Antique and vintage items often make nicer than new gifts ITEMCoalport Pottery, with a history that goes back to 1795, is a distinguished English brand with a Worldwide reputation for beautifully crafted fine bone china.
In 1967 the Wedgwood Group purchased Coalport China and it ceased all production under the Coalport name...one of the reasons why good, branded examples of the pottery's excellence are still sought after and collected.
Listed is a delightfully modeled urn, with a perforated lid, and is intended to be used as a classically elegant pot pourri holder. It is decorated in the "Indian Tree Coral" pattern, first used by Coalport in 1801 (see images)
The backstamp is consistent with the urn being produced in the early second-half of the 20th Century.
CONDITION Very good. No chips or cracks and even the gilding (which can suffer from age and use related wear) remains in pristine condition.PRICING
Whenever possible our asking prices are based on either our knowledge of the genre or on what similar pieces have been sold for on the international market, rather than what some sellers are asking, which are usually two very different things!
You will normally find that our prices sit somewhere in the middle between auction and professional dealer prices and the current market. We are always willing to consider realistic offers.
SHIPPING
We have a 100pc success rate for over a decade in successfully shipping fragile antiques and collectables across the UK and the wider World. We only charge what the Post Office and couriers charge us and subsidise the cost of packing materials.
International shipping? Since Covid, we have used Ebay's Global Shipping Programme for packages over 2kg because it has proved to be competitive and reliable. In this case, the package is likely to be under 2kg so there is the option to use the Royal Mail's Airmail service.
