SAILBOAT

FROSTY - A 10 foot lightweight plywood sail or rowboat. She is not only dry and a steady sailer but is also a snap to build.   Stiff and light Frosty only weighs 55 pounds but possesses weather-ability and durability.   Frosty has seating capacity for four persons.   If a rowboat or sailboat is what you are looking for and you need to move it alone this is your boat.   I am excited about this simple plan yet you get such a nice boat.   About 33 inches wide and 18 inches tall, complete bill of material included in the plan, don’t miss out on a great first time boat project.

SUPER- SUNRAY :   The sun class sailboats are among the fastest of all small craft.   Sunray is just under 16 feet long and is among the most popular sun class racers of all.   A six page plan details everything you will need including complete construction details, assembly instructions, and Sail plan & Rig details.   A complete bill of material is also included in the plan so you know exactly what will be needed to complete this project.   This is not a complicated plan at all and would make you a great small sailboat.

PILGRIM- NORTH SHORE CLASS AUXILIARY SLOOP :   A beautifully designed 21 foot 6 inch auxiliary round-bottom sloop.   May be built either as an open day sailer and racer or cabin knock-about.   A small 5 hp motor will drive the boat about 9 miles per hour in calm waters.   She is described in an 11 page plan, this is not a first time build unless you take your time and learn as you go.   Complete offset tables are provided to guide you through the building process.   All construction, assembly, and sail plan detail along with complete bill of material is provided so there will be no guesswork.    This is a real good looking boat, could be one of the best I have ever seen in the 21 foot class.   You will want to study these plans to understand how these beautiful boats are constructed.

PANDA - This is the Inland Lake Yachting Association official One-Design CUB class for juveniles and their parents, yet the boat construction is simple enough for amateurs to build.   This is not just a kids boat but a great boat for adults and is simple to build, that was a main goal of the Inland Lake Yachting Association when they started the CUB class.   They wanted a safe design so the beam on this boat is 75 inches, which makes capsizing almost impossible.   This is a great 8 page plan that covers everything from lines and offsets, station layout, complete construction detail with many drawings, spar details, assembly details, sail plan & Rigging details, and a complete bill of materials so you know exactly what you need to get started.   Another great plan that got most people into sailing, so get this plan and start having some fun also.   Remember this plan was designed for amateurs so don’t worry you can build this boat.

SPLINTER- A SAILING TOOTHPICK :   The sport of fast sailing takes on a new meaning in this slender sloop.   A raisable bulb fin makes the oat very stable, and easy to beach. The springboards are used in stiff breezes when a two man crew is aboard.   This 5 page plan includes Sail plan & rigging details, watertight bulkheads fore and aft rendering the hull unsinkable, fin & fin and trunk details, complete construction detail drawings, assembly drawings, and a complete bill of material. She is 20 feet long and about 36 inches wide; this is a great plan for the home builder if you are looking for a unique fast sailboat.   Plywood and framing construction.

BINGO – Now Bingo is a lightweight plywood dinghy that is equally efficient under sail or outboard power, Bingo is a real all around boat.   Bingo has an overall length of 11 feet 4 inches and weighs only 85 pounds.   Bingo is an ideal type of small boat for transporting by car, and for general use on lakes and rivers.   Put it on top of your car and take it along on your vacation or camping trip.   Bingo will provide no end to sport and pleasure.   Rowing, out boarding or sailing, Bingo is a great boat for all three.   Sailing rig is simple but efficient; Bingo is fast, dry stable sailer with the rig.   Plywood makes this an easy boat to build.

FRISKY - A RACING sloop!   Frisky is a 17-foot jib headed racer that meets the popular demand for a racing craft combined with a knockabout for leisurely afternoon sailing.   A simple rig makes the boat easy to handle and maneuver, the sail area is large enough to give her speed in light airs, yet small enough to allow her to stand up to stronger winds.   Frisky is specially designed to fill a couple bill embodying a fast hull, with sweeping lines and novel features.   An outboard motor may be hung from her transom and the rudder is detachable.   Large cockpit so you have a lot of seating area.   This boat can be constructed from either plywood or conventional planking.     I love the looks of this boat and so will you

TEN-FOOT SAILING DINGHY- - Enjoy year round sailing with a craft that’s the equal of an expensive professionally built dinghy.   This wide-plank, lap seam sailing dinghy is also very serviceable as an all purpose rowboat- for fishing, as a yacht tender, or small outboard motor boat.   This boat will carry three adults with plenty to spare.   A great boat to let the youngsters learn to sail in.   A loose-footed jib headed cat rig as indicated on the plans can be used, or a simple spritsail rig as shown also in the plans.   A great small sail boat to have fun with.

ZIPPER   - Zipper is 20 feet of the FASTEST type sailing craft afloat, this boat was designed primarily for use on lakes or other inland waters.   Zipper will pass anything of her inches, and her hull represents new development, having four chines in lieu of the conventional two.   The shape of the bottom is a development of true streamline flow, the brainchild of Dave Hammell of M.I.T.    This plan is a 6 page set that includes the complete bill of material.   Great project for sure with everything you need.   Plywood construction.   If you are into speed this is a must have

Wings - A 13 foot portable sailboat that will make winter evenings happier and summer days full of fun on the water.   Extremely fast, safe, and able on smooth water, the scow or skimming type of sailboat is perhaps the most efficient hull form known, and one readily adaptable to home construction.   A complete bill of material for Wings is included with this plan.   Total sail area 110 square feet.   Everything is include in this plan, one of the best for a portable sailboat.

Hard to find a more fun boat.

POCO DINERO-   This is an auxiliary in the 20-foot class, she is the perfect small sail power cruiser for amateur builders.   Poco’s gaff rig is the most efficient type with her particular hull.   The plans are described on 9 pages, which also includes a sail plan.   This is not a first time builders boat but it is interesting for all to review how larger boats are constructed.
