A good early 19th century oak bible box, fitted with original stand with turned oak legs and stretchers. Nice decorative carving to the front. The top lifts via two steel hinges. It has been sympathetically cleaned and re-waxed. Some minor woodworm activity as you would expect which has been thoroughly treated. Very nice colour with some terrific grain patterning. A very nice country oak antique which has a number of practical uses such as a stool, coffee table or just somewhere handy to keep your bible, in which case it wouldn't be something you would be allowed to covet! Measurements: 50 cm across the top, 32 cm deep and stands just under 50 cm high.
