Description:

Superb solid silver presentation box beautifully crafted by F C Richards and assayed in Birmingham in 1931. Simple rectangular design with plain polished external surfaces, no engravings or motifs, just the full clear hallmarks to one side and the stamped manufacturers details on the base. Inside is finished in blue velvet in the base and cushioned brushed satin to the lid. There is a 24mm circular cut out for a coin, locket or medal. This would be an ideal presentation box to house a gold sovereign (or similar) to commemorate a birth, christening or other auspicious occasion. The £1 coin in the photos is shown for scale only and is not included in the sale.

Condition:

The box is in exceptional near mint condition considering that it is almost 100 years old. No knocks, dings or other damage whatsoever.
