Item:264659317101A working 18th century oak longcase clock, with carved square hood, with fluted columns above a long trunk door, carved with a repeat geometric floral pattern, on a block base, the 25cm square dial has raised spandrels with silvered Roman numeric and Arabic chapter ring and date aperture. The clock has an 8 day, 2 train movement and it strikes every hour. The case is 201cms in height. The clock is a great example of English craftsmanship and engineering. A brilliant and handsome clock which will not fail to impress. The clock has the inscription J L Kemp, who appears to be a clock maker from around the 1790s. The clock has a subsidiary dial for the date. The clock is missing it's original key, but I can provide a replacement key which can be used to wind the clock. It has age related marks and scratches.
