The 8 day five pillar twin fusee movement with lovely shaped plates and hour strike on a bell has been fully overhauled and serviced including a full strip down of all parts, replaced traditional cat gut, full clean and polish. The movement is in excellent working order and striking in sequence and has the London style adjustment pendulum. Beautiful case of relatively small proportions with gorgeous colour and patination and wonderful mahogany veneers. The case has both bezel and back door locks which are working and the one key operates both.The bezel catch is half a turn and back door is double turn. The dial has the original paint and is signed "L. Ashmore" Southampton. The case condition is very very good as the pictures show with only very minor marks as consummate with age. Standing on original bun feet 14.5 ins high[37cm] x 9 ins wide[23cm] x 6 ins deep[15cm]. A beautiful and fine quality clock from the golden age of clock making.
